This is a place dedicated to my current music obsession. Here I will share with you the songs that speak to my soul, the bands that have me mesmerized, the lyrics that explain exactly how I am feeling.

Currently? More like formerly! Lately I have been on a reminiscing kick, focusing heavy on the bands of my angsty youth. While many of the bands from my punk-rock stage haven't matured along with me, the release of Saosin's Along The Shadow shows major growth in the members of the band and my gosh am I loving it.

It still has that tinge of emoesque appeal that brought the band to infamy, due partly to the return of beloved Anthony Green, but they have found a way to bring the twenty-something fans through the feeling of high school without all the acne and drama. The chord progressions, instrumentation, and balance of heavy and soft vocals transcend the current influx of popcentric/electrofunk galaxy most of the world is living in. While it may be too hard for some people's ear holes, to a true connoisseur it is a delicious bowl of hard-core stew.

Picking personal favorites from this record was damn near impossible, so this time I am choosing to plead the fifth. Instead, check out the full album on Spotify and make a judgement call for yourself.
